Heart & Soul is all about our storytelling approach to family photography—one that prioritizes connection, emotion, and documenting the genuine stories that make each family unique. This is a look into our soulful approach focused on genuine emotion, meaningful stories, and capturing the unique heart and soul of every family.
Our approach focuses less on perfection and more on capturing what’s real: moments that are honest, ordinary, and authentic. We’ll take you behind the scenes of our creative process, from setting expectations to staying true to your artistic approach and building genuine relationships with clients. Through real, interactive shoots, you’ll learn how to foster connection and authenticity in your work, while also discovering ways to grow and refine your own voice and vision as a storytelling family photographer.

With a background in photography and graphic design — and years of experience in the wedding photography industry — I now focus on creating heartfelt, natural images that reflect the everyday moments that make family life so special. Whether it's the laughter, the hugs, or those quiet moments of connection, my aim is to preserve the genuine moments that truly tell a family's story.

After over a decade of being a photographer, in 2022 I decided to transition to solely photographing families on film. Analog mediums such as 35mm & 120 film, polaroid and super 8 video have deepened my love for storytelling because they allow me to pause, observe, and embrace the small, often overlooked moments that make life the most meaningful. As a mother of three, I’ve learned to appreciate the beauty in the everyday. Understanding what brings me joy in my everyday routines, appreciating my own family's story, and trusting my instincts have become the foundation of my work. Every time I photograph a family, I aim to tell a story that feels true—one filled with depth, honesty, and meaning.

A hopeless romantic, sunset lover, plant collector, all-day coffee drinker, mother, wife and visual storytelling photographer. I enjoy shooting analog and super 8 but predominantly shoot digital. For as long as I can remember, I’ve admired natural light in all its forms, art, and the beautiful connections between people. As a photographer, I’m deeply drawn to capturing memories of moments that hold a nostalgic feeling, that are full of heart, documentary but intentional, imagery which holds meaning, which also embraces the beauty amongst the chaos, and evokes the unique journey that each family experiences.

WHAT IF I'M SICK AND CAN'T MAKE IT?
A 50% deposit is due upon booking to secure your spot. The remaining 50% is due by 14th May 2025.
WHEN IS PAYMENT DUE?
Your camera gear, film + analog camera (if you're wanting to shoot/experiment with film). An open mind.
WHAT WILL I NEED TO BRING?
Lunch on both days as well as drinks and nibbles during morning and afternoon tea breaks. You'll also get a workbook that has space for taking notes.
WHAT's provided?
Let's not beat around the bush and drive right in... This workshop is not an entry-level photography workshop. However, it's the perfect place if you're wanting to become empowered as a visual storyteller, wanting a change in direction within your photography journey or wanting to level up your artistry.
